This year, we're thrilled to introduce Alyssa Stellar, our new English Language Arts teacher for grades 7-10, who brings both literary expertise and a genuine passion for helping students find their voices through writing and reading. We sat down with her to learn what brought her to Harbor City and what she's most excited about in her new role.
What’s one skill you have that might surprise us?
I’m a certified lifeguard!
What drew you to HCIS?
Harbor City students and staff embody the school's mission statement in all areas of education and life. Being part of such an inclusive, passionate, and civically engaged community has been the extra fuel I needed to keep going each day!

Outside of HCIS, I love to garden, play Magic the Gathering, listen to live music, and snuggle with my dog and cat.
