Description:
Harbor City International School is a small, public charter school serving grades 7 -12 in Duluth, MN. The purpose of this position is to engage students in math learning to meet and exceed state standards in an inclusive, small setting focused on academic challenge and community engagement.

Responsibilities include:
● Content development and delivery for math courses which may include:Pre- Algebra, Algebra Fundamentals, Intermediate Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Computer Coding, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus. Focus area for 2026-27: 7-9th grade learners and building remedial skills
● Create a safe and inclusive environment for all students to engage in classroom and school activities
● Provide effective assessment and feedback to promote strong math skills, understandings, and application
● Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families
● Make decisions informed by a variety of assessments, tools, and data for math instruction
● Differentiate learning experiences for all students and work with special education staff to provide student accommodations
● Maintain reliable professional working habits is attendance, communication, preparedness, and professional growth
● Communicate with students, families, and colleagues effectively
● Oversee an advisory period focused on student engagement, SEL, student skill development and family communication
● Teach 3 Symposium classes- short, special interest classes in January, May, and June
● Additional opportunities: club advisement, student travel, school leadership and development committees

● Based on education and experience beginning at $42,500

Education Requirements:
● BA in Math Education or equivalent, MA desired
● Valid MN teaching license in 5-12 (preferred) or 7-12 Mathematics
