Harbor City International School is hiring a paraprofessional who is compassionate and patient to support our special education students in the classroom with their academic goals. Harbor City International School (harborcityschool.org) is a public charter school serving grades 7-12 in Duluth, MN. We focus on academic success and community engagement in a small, inclusive setting.


Duties
● In conjunction with the classroom teacher and case managers, the paraprofessional is responsible for providing assistance and support to students within the parameters of the students’ individual education plan (IEP). This could also include behavioral support and assisting in developmental life skills.
● With guidance from case managers and general education teachers, the paraprofessional is also responsible for reading, understanding, and implementing supports for the students from the IEP.
● The paraprofessional duties could include a 1-1 assignment, being in a variety of different classrooms, and/or work with multiple children in different grade levels throughout the day.

● High school diploma required plus 2 years college, AA degree or equivalent OR taking the ParaPro assessment with passing score.
● BA, BS or similar preferred.
● Pass a background check.
