Special Education Teacher

The ideal candidate will be Minnesota certified in one or more of the following licensure areas - LD, EBD and/ or ASD. 

Desired skills: 
Experience in modifying and adapting the rigor of high school curriculum in a college prep school; strong team orientation; strong communication skills and efficient due process skills.

1.0 FTE School Psychologist

Harbor City International School, a small, college preparatory, charter high school in Duluth is seeking a full-time school psychologist. The school psychologist will support students’ ability to learn and teachers’ ability to teach by applying expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior.

Partial list of responsibilities:

  • Design and implement special education evaluations.
  • Work closely with members of the special education department and general education staff to design high-quality, special education evaluation plans, including conducting achievement testing, data collection, observations, interviews, and completing functional behavior assessments.
  • Assist in managing the scheduling of student evaluations in order to meet due process requirements, including coordinating paperwork and evaluation components from special education teachers and related service providers.
  • Utilize a wide range of psychological protocols and instruments to evaluate students for special education.
  • Develop appropriate evaluation reports and service recommendations based on the results of evaluation data.
  • Provide culturally responsive services to students and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Other duties as assigned.
